SWV Foundation: Supporting War Veterans in Ukraine
The “Support War Veterans” Foundation, amidst the ongoing full-scale war in Ukraine, plays a crucial role in addressing the dire needs of combatants and civilians who have been severely injured, resulting in limb amputations. With an estimated 7-10 thousand soldiers, and potentially more, suffering from such severe injuries, the Foundation focuses on providing financial support for rehabilitation and prosthetics. This assistance extends to aiding hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and prosthetics manufacturers.
The Foundation actively collaborates with the “Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation ‘Halychyna’,” a state non-commercial enterprise with two decades of experience in offering comprehensive rehabilitation services for persons with various disabilities. Recognizing the extensive need, the Foundation appeals for public support in raising funds for individual soldiers’ prosthetics. They have established a pivotal trilateral contact with “Institut Desvern” in Barcelona and the “Rehabilitation Center ‘Halychyna’,” highlighting their international and local collaborative efforts. The Foundation’s success hinges on the support of benefactors, emphasizing the critical nature of their mission to assist war-affected individuals in Ukraine.
